I have talked about this before, a long network run with network switches at a mid point, that point is in a concrete room that gets wet sometimes. To help keep the switches dry the cable runs are inside a large cable chase with a lid, this runs to the box that will house up to 12 five port GigE switches, a terminal block and a 12 strand Fiber Optic splice. The splice we will do in-house so we can gain experience with the 3M mechanical splices.
All cables entering or leaving will be through conduit, four start out high on the wall and go to another building while a single conduit goes to the back of a Mid Atlantic swing out rack. There we terminate into terminal blocks, KRONE block and RJ45 network blocks.
